Radon Mitigation - Ankeny, IA
This client is a nice woman in her 60s with a southern accent. She has some difficulty hearing so she needed some assistance with how this installation would go through. The basement is about half finished with a wood shop and a storage room. The team installed in the two sump pits with interior drain tile along with a custom Breathe EZ 25x30x1. Levels of 10 found and concerned with health risk since she is elderly. The client also spends more time in the basement because she has a sewing room there. The installation was smooth!

This client decided to get a radon mitigation system as he paid upfront upon booking. He is in the process of selling his home while staying there and get another land while doing so. He requested to have it done in his basement and up through his garage. The basement is his wife's workplace, so he wanted something to stand as protection from the high exposure. He was happy with how it turned out!

This project was a hard one as we were bidding against four different people. Our lead tech Rusty, ended up selling this as well as a Breathe EZ due to bedrooms and kids being in the basement. I think it was the deciding factor from a health standpoint. The one thing that I am concerned about is the quotes that he received from other competitors. Rusty did let Eric know that we can match other companies prices if he were to give us the other quotes for our price assurance guarantee. The other issue on this house is the exit point for an exterior system would initially come out under the deck so that would mean the team would have to make a quick 90° out to the right hand side more towards the center of the home. The third complication on this home is that he is too sump pumps. One is sealed up in a wooden box and looks to be very tight so I did not mess with it. The second one is in the utility room which will need to be sealed up like normal. Rusty did let the homeowner know that we can start with a single point to see how well write all levels will drop even though he has elevated levels with a strong recommendation to put into points. Price was a pretty big factor in all this but still glad he ended us choosing us for quality.

This was a simple family who really taught about getting their own radon mitigation system due to some budget cuts. They were really happy when we advised them that financing was an option. They took a 12-month plan and went all out as they also got a BEZ filter for better protection.

This will be a 2-point system and two sump pits will need to be sealed up. They are both located in the utility portion of the storage area. The team will need to core through one of the walls to create an additional instruction point and encapsulation and use one of the other sump pits for an extraction point. Rusty from the team was surprised when he walked into this home and saw the size of the crawl space. There is a small storage room with paint in it and pegboard that can be taken down to access the very large crawl space. It is almost broken down into three separate areas that have access to each one of them. The customer was also looking to have the far side of the home insulated. It's the crawl space that drops down a little bit further because they seem to not be able to carry all that much heat in the area. I didn't crawl around too much further in there but could be a good opportunity to add more insulation if it was sought to be fit. The customer was looking to have the external extraction point come out of the corner of their home and was back and forth between the pond side of the house or around the corner with the bushes. The installation was quick and easy!
