Radon Mitigation - Storm Lake, IA
John is a police officer and has two daughters that live in the basement. His wife died of cancer 1.5 years ago and he bought the house this spring. Radon levels of 9 were found and he is very concerned for his family's health. A large cement crawlspace with access from basement under stairs is a good start, it's next to HVAC unit 1. Extraction point here then enter crawlspace, second point in crawlspace and exit home in L portion of crawlspace. We installed muffler and a radon fan housing cover.

The clients were a nice, retired couple. They invested in this ranch house as their retirement home with a fully finished basement near the lake. Before moving in, they had to test for radon as they have been seeing the need everywhere, especially with elderly... It turned out the levels were high! They called in for Iowa Radon Defense as they don't want to ruin this beautiful summer home and the memories they want to make. The radon mitigation system was a sump pit with no pump. The team utilized the pit for extraction and perforated holes in the side. They had an L-shaped crawlspace, so it was a bit of a challenge. Everything was well done, and they liked it.

Tim is a contractor so he is aware that having a radon mitigation system at home is a need. This is his 2nd property and the team needed to get the Iowa Department of Labor Registration to sign the proposal. The home has a small basement and needed to avoid a bumped out window with fan and exhaust, the client's replacing it and has to remove/replace some siding. It also had a small 6x6 crawlspace and an opening in the basement floor to seal with Cleanspace. We got the approval before anything else and the job was perfect!
Radon Mitigation - Cherokee, IA
It's a young couple expecting their first child reached out to the Iowa Radon Defense team after discovering elevated radon levels in their nursery area. The company's mitigation efforts were not only effective but also accommodated their tight schedule and budget. That's a win-win for both.
Radon Mitigation - Anthon, IA
This home tested for radon as they wanted to start healthy living by the year 2024. The results returned with low levels but still the homeowner made the decision to protect their home and family members. They did share that it wasn't easy deciding on it, but they know it will be worth it in the future as this is already required in real estate policies. It was not a complicated process as the homeowners made the home ready for radon mitigation installation. They did their research, and they knew what's the most ideal system along with adding a Breathe EZ filter for extra protection.
